Hurricane Wilma hit Florida

As hurricane Wilma churns its way northeastward, Floridians must now to assess the damage the storm left behind, mourn the six who died, and start the repair process.

Arriving as a Category 3 hurricane, Wilma made a seven-hour sprint across lower Florida, starting in the southwest and moving to the more heavily populated areas around Miami and Fort Lauderdale on the Atlantic coast.
Wilma had weakened to a Category 2 storm while over land but regained its Category 3 status in the afternoon as it swirled out over the Atlantic Ocean.

Pakistan Death Toll

Pakistan's military spokesman has said an entire generation of young people has been wiped out in the areas worst hit by a massive earthquake. Maj Gen Shaukat Sultan, quoted by the AFP news agency, said children had been the biggest casualties.

The death toll has soared to 30,800 in the aftermath of the worst earthquake to hit Pakistan, as nations around the world try to get aid to the northern parts of the devastated country and to Kashmir. Some where the the toll is said to be more than 43000

North Pakistan hit by EarthQuake

Hundreds of people are feared dead and several villages wiped out in north Pakistan in the country's worst earthquake in 20 years, according to Pakistan's interior minister.A powerful quake hit several parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan and northern India this morning. It measured 7.6 on the Richter scale, according to the US Geological Survey.
The epicentre of the quake was at Shipal Masjid, 95 km north-northeast of Islamabad.In Pakistan's capital Islamabad, buildings shook and walls swayed for about a minute just before 9 am local time.
